Study tour 2022

Curriculum Policy

Apple Tree International School is a strict English-speaking educational environment.
Since July 2013 we are a Cambridge International School with Cambridge Assessment International Education CAIE. Since September 2014 we are a registered member of Cambridge Primary.

Through modern international standard educational methods adapted to Bangladeshi cultural environment, Apple Tree International School aims for highest possible results in Cambridge O level examinations, and to prepare our students for higher education.

At preschool level strong emphasis is given English as a tool of communication. Through activity based learning and play in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, students will have a growing confidence to understand and to use English in every aspect of the school day and to prepare them for Cambridge Primary.

From Kindergarten - Grade 5 we follow Cambridge Primary curriculum in English, Mathematics and Science.
Cambridge ICT Starters is followed for work with computer and digital technology.
Throughout the six years of Cambridge Primary emphasis is given three core educational areas:
1. English. Higher education in Bangladesh and abroad depends on the capability of understanding English, and education at Apple Tree is conducted in English without exception.
2. Bengali. Without the proper knowledge of their mother language and its culture and history, students may not be able to master a second language.
3. Mathematics, Science, ICT and Computer Science.

Apple Tree International School follows Cambridge Assessment International Education syllabus leading to Cambridge O level examinations.
Grade 8 - 10 are the years of our O level courses. Our students sit for O levels at the end of Grade 10.
Cambridge Checkpoint assessments are compulsory at Apple Tree. During the first semester of Grade 6 students sit for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint to assess their progress throughout Cambridge Primary.
During second semester of Grade 7 students sit for Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint as an evaluation before the O level courses begin.

The fees for both Checkpoints are included in the regular tuition.

We encourage our students to take at least one Humanities subject for their O level, like Literature in English or Art & Design.

An independent life of learning
